SEROBID 25MCG (120 MDI)
Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist is recommended for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The primary ingredient of Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) is Salmeterol which helps in widening the airways of the lungs and facilitating easy breathing.
How does it work:
Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) is composed of Salmeterol which is a long-acting bronchodilator. It acts on the smooth muscle of the airways which leads to muscle relaxation and prevents Bronchoconstriction. The whole chemical mechanism of Salmeterol makes breathing easier.
How to use this?
Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) comes in the powder form for inhalation and one is recommended to inhale it as instructed by their health specialist. In the case of an adult who is suffering from chronic asthma-inhalation is recommended and one who is having COPD, Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) is prescribed as a metered-dose aerosol or dry powder inhalation-50 or 100 mcg twice daily. Avoid high-doses to prevent serious heart problems.
Some of the major and minor side-effects of this drug are- sleep disturbances, headache, nose inflammation, cough, vomiting, nausea, skin inflammation, high blood-pressure, rashes, fever, pain, Eye inflammation, spasms, muscle cramps, throat irritation, nasal/sinus congestion, ear infection, oral mucosal abnormality etc.
Precautions and Warning:
If you are hypersensitive Serobid 25 Mcg (120 Mdi) should not be taken. Patients need to consume this drug with caution if they have a medical history of- irregular heartbeat, diabetes, high blood pressure, liver or heart disease, overactive thyroid, epilepsy etc.
Elderly, children, pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult the doctor before taking this medicine. Asthma patients must regularly monitor their blood pressure, blood sugar, and serum potassium level when they are on this drug.
