Imigran Subject is a pre-filled cartridge syringe that contains a single dose of 6
mg/0.5 ml of sumaptriptan succinate – the active ingredient of Imigran injection.
This ingredient belongs to a group of drugs called as triptans (also known as 5-HT 1
USES OF IMIGRAN SUBJECT
It is used for providing relief in migraine attacks, with or without aura and also to
treat cluster headache.
HOW IT WORKS
Temporary widening of blood vessels in the head may cause migraine or cluster
headache. Imigran Subject reduces the widening of these vessels which helps in
providing relief from pain and improving other symptoms of migraine.
HOW TO USE IMIGRAN SUBJECT
This medicine should be used strictly under medical supervision. Ask your doctor
to explain you the correct procedure of administering it, also read the instruction
leaflet of the medicine very carefully before using it.
Imigran Subject is injected under the skin (usually the outside of the thigh). You
can use this medicine as soon as the symptoms start to appear but not to avoid a
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
You should not use it if you have a known allergy for such drugs, also you must
explain your full medical history and current medication to your doctor before
using it. Women who are pregnant, planning to conceive or lactating should avoid
using it. You must not take Imigran injection if you have or have had a heart
disease, angina, high blood pressure, liver disease or shortness of breath. This
medicine is recommended for the people of age between 18 to 65 years.
Injection site pain
Allergic reaction like rash, swollen eyelids, etc
Pain, tightness in the chest
Shortness of breath
Temporary increase in blood pressure
Change in liver function (very rare)
It is possible that you may observe some of the above symptoms but if the
symptoms persist consult your doctor immediately.
